About OCEANID+

The world is moving more and more towards the sea. There is growing interest in marine resources and new maritime industries to create jobs, economic growth and in providing energy and food security. But overexploitation, climate change and marine pollution are threatening the health and productivity of the ocean. Europe is a maritime continent, surrounded by 2 oceans and 5 seas, with 70,000 km of coastline and the largest maritime zone. The IMP's philosophy is that, by uniting policies for the seas and oceans, Europe can achieve much higher returns with an impact on the environment. JMCE also hopes to contribute to continuing to bring together knowledge that remains somewhat isolated in the different schools and research centers of NOAA. NOVA's different schools and research centers. The Center's main objective is to continue the work carried out by JMChair 2017-20, taking advantage of the continued focus on maritime affairs, to help students, researchers, public authorities, to improve their understanding of how the seas are evolving and to help develop new products, services and jobs in the EU. The JMC 2017-20 has already increased the intensity of European courses at NOVA. Its two core subjects have been incorporated into all of the University's master's and doctoral courses, and there have also been several events (conferences, seminars, workshops) on the different EU policies related to the sea (fisheries, transport, environment).
